MEGUM™ 538 is a general purpose cover coat adhesive used for bonding rubber compounds to metals and other rigid substrates during vulcanization.

This product is especially suitable for bonding both difficult to bond compounds and soft compounds.

MEGUM™ or THIXON™ adhesive primers are used to adhere to metals such as hot and cold rolled steel, stainless steel, aluminum and brass prior to applying MEGUM™ 538. These same primers can be used to adhere to thermoplastics such as polyamides and polyesters. This product is especially suitable for bonding both difficult to bond compounds and soft compounds used in NVH applications.

MEGUM™ 3290-1 is a one-coat bonding agent for bonding fluorocarbon rubbers to metals and other rigid substrates during volcanization. It is also suitable for other common curing systems including bisphenolic and peroxide curing.
Compared to MEGUM™ 3290 it contains an adhesion promotor and supports the cross-linking chemistry to give good environmental resistance in the finished good.
Composition
MEGUM™ 3290-1 consists of reactive silane polymers and a unique adhesion promoter in ethanol. It is formulated without reportable levels of lead or other heavy metals.

MEGUM™ 3290-1 adheres to hot and cold rolled steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass as well as thermoplastics such as polyamides and polyesters.

MEGUM™ 3340-A +B is a solvent-based two-component, one-coat adhesive for the bonding of polar elastomers to metal or other rigid substrates during vulcanization.
The main advantage of the two-component system compared to the chemical identical one-component system is an improved shelf life of the sinfle components, especially if stored at higher temperatures.

Composition
MEGUM™ 3340-A+B consists of reactive polymers and pigments in methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) and methyl ethyl ketone (MEK). It is formulated without reportable levels of lead or other toxic heavy metals.

Elastomers
NBR, HNBR, ACM, AEM etc.

Materials
MEGUM™ 3340-A+B adheres to hot and cold rolled steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass as well as thermoplastics such as polyamides and polyesters.

Molding and Curing
MEGUM™ 3340-A+B can be used with all common molding and curing methods. Cure temperatures between 120°C and 205°C are recommended.

Environmental Resistance
Properly prepared bonds using MEGUM™ 3340-A+B display resistance against external influences like fuels, oil, water exposures and high temperatures.

THIXON™ 422 is a one-coat bonding agent used for bonding castable polyurethane elastomers to metal. It is also suitable for bonding thermoplastic polyurethanes to metal.

Pre-baking of THIXON™422 is not necessary for good adhesion. THIXON™422 has a very good temperature and hydrolysis resistance.

THIXON™ 422 adheres to hot and cold rolled steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, as well as thermoplastics such as polyamides and polyesters.

THIXON™ OSN-2-EFRubber-to-Substrate Bonding

THIXON™ OSN-2-EF is a general purpose one-coat adhesive used for bonding various elastomers to metals, such as hot and cold rolled steel, stainless steel alloys, brass, aluminum, and zinc plated metals. THIXON™ OSN-2-EF bonds Natural Rubber (NR), Polybutadiene (BR), Polyisoprene (IR), Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR), Chloroprene (CR) and Polyacrylate (ACM). THIXON™ OSN-2-EF is also used for post-vulcanization bonding. In addition, THIXON™ OSN-2-EF bonds rubber to synthetic fibers such as rayon and polyester. It is a good general purpose rubber to substrate bonding agent that can be used as single coat or two coat system. The use of a ROBOND, THIXON™ or MEGUM™ primer or a two coat system will provide the best environmental resistance, however THIXON™ OSN-2-EF does quite well as a stand alone coating in many general rubber to metal bonding situations.

THIXON™ P-11Rubber-to-Substrate BondingPrimer
THIXON™ P-11 is a solvent-based primer, used in combination with MEGUM™ or THIXON™ cover coats. THIXON™ P-11 can also be used as a one-coat adhesive for the bonding of polar elastomers (NBR, AEM, ACM).
